The Tokyo International Anime Fair 2008, the world's largest anime exhibition, will be held over four days from March 27 to March 30, 2008 at Tokyo Big Sight.
The exhibition features a trade fair, with booths run by anime - related companies; events, including spectacular stage performances and movie theater showings / displays; and the Tokyo Anime Awards, which will honor outstanding anime works. Last year a record 107,713 people visited the fair over four days. Even if you are not an anime fan, you might be curious to find out just how popular the anime fair is.
Anime is an important part of Japanese pop culture. Specifically, it is said to be representative of "otaku" culture; a unique lifestyle centered on technology and an obsession for Anime/Manga.
